Can you say Kow-A-Bunga! John John Florence a Hawaiian native nailed a 360 trick about 8 feet off the wave in the opening round of the Oakley Pro Bali which was held in Keramas, Indonesia just last month in June. This amazing trick earned John a perfect 10 which in surf competition is an automatic advancement to the next round. Way to go John John.

When interviewed after his heat Mr. Florence told interviewer’s “I was in the air and saw the bottom and everything happened so fast that I was just reacting. I claimed it pretty hard, but I was so stoked“.

Despite John John catching some serious hang time and nailing whats been said to be the best trick in sports history he failed to win the competition as he was out surfed by the Australian Joel Parkinson in the first heat of the 5th round. Might we say though that John Florence has nothing to be ashamed of as he put on amazing competition with not only his amazing 360 stick but well he was eliminated by the Champ as the Oakley Pro Bali 2013 Champion was Mr Joel Parkinson who beat Michel Bourez on the final day of surfing on June 27, 2013.
