If your time has come to cut the cord with cable or dish, go with the the Amazon Fire TV Box and stay away from Amazon Firesticks. Over the years we have tested several devices/boxes including MXQ’S, M8’s, Pigfly, Android Quatro Cores, Firesticks, etc . and none have been able to beat the Amazon TV. The Fire TV Box is fast, has direct ethernet connection, usb for wireless keyboard, and more. The greatest thing about the Fire TV is the speed and built-in apps that are way more user friendly than off brand streaming box that is powered by Android or micro pc’s like the Raspberry PI. The Raspberry PI was actually one of our first when we stepped into the XBMC world know known as Kodi. Kodi has become extremely popular and is favored by all cord cutters. Kodi allows you to do so much but when it comes to an basic cord cutter that wants simplicity, you only need the video streaming portion which is why we prefer the Amazon Fire TV over all 3rd party devices. Most third party devices just offer too much and can be confusing to users that have zero experience with these devices. The younger crowd and more tech savvy cord cutters love advanced media streaming devices because they can customize their Kodi boxes to their liking.
